This week was a very interesting one at the park as multiple projects are progressing on to new stages or wrapping up entirely. Scenic and landscaping are appearing on the Fast & Furious coaster and concrete has been poured at the Eastern security hub.
Security Hub Check In
Progress has been made on both the Eastern and Central security hubs.
Concrete has been poured at the Eastern hub. This is surprising because this one just started to go vertical and I thought there’d be more to do before pouring concrete. It’s hard to tell from this photo, but on the concrete walls there are tons of small holes so maybe those are connection points for something?
Over at the Central hub green pipes have started to be installed as this structure looks to go vertical. A permit was filed for a new fire alarm system for this new building so hopefully we see it start to rise quickly!
Over at the West hub nothing has started yet but I did find this marking by the Frankenstein parking structure so this will certainly be something to watch closely.
NBA STORE
The NBA Store is just about to ready to partially open potentially as soon as Friday as it already has merch on the shelves!
The front facade still has some work to do but if they work fast they can get this entrance open soon as well!
Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift
The Fast & Furious coaster has completed its pull through test and this month will start powered testing around the station. Below is a list of construction activities for this month!
Scenic and landscaping has started and will continue throughout the month.
The extended queue continues to be worked on with another set of supports for the shade structure recently installed.
Mummy Events Space
They are still working seven days a week on this project and have nearly installed all the layers of rebar. Next up will be the concrete pour for the wall itself which should happen this week or next week.
