Guest Unfortunately Passes Away On Ride At Epic Universe

UPDATE: The young man who passed was 32 year old Kevin Rodriguez Zavala who lived in Kissimmee, Florida and had several blunt impact injuries. The incident has been ruled as an accident.

Yesterday a guest riding Stardust Racers was sluggish and unresponsive when the train came back into the station. He was transported to a local hospital and eventually passed away. The guest was a man in his thirties.

According to a Universal spokesperson, “Universal is cooperating with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office following a tragic event involving a guest at Epic Universe on Wednesday night. The guest became unresponsive after riding Stardust Racers and was transported to the hospital, where the guest later died. We are devastated by this event and extend our sincerest sympathies to the guest’s loved ones. We are fully committed to cooperating with this ongoing investigation. The attraction remains closed.”

Stardust Racers remains closed today and for the foreseeable future while an investigation commences. Stardust is a high speed rollercoaster that has two launches and goes up to 62mph as well as having several inversions.
