Earlier this week, an unfortunate accident happened at the Mummy Wall project. A piece of construction machinery nearly toppled over the edge of the wall on to the ground floor below.
This image comes from the video from TikTok user drublu94 and shows a very scary situation where the construction vehicle nearly gives over then embankment.
As of writing this article, we do not have an update on the status of the worker driving that vehicle or if any construction workers at all were injured, but we are certainly hoping for the best.
As for the status of this project it is now uncertain. If you read our Universal Update from this week you’d know this project was moving at breakneck speed. There will likely have be to some sort of investigation into what happened here and that will likely put a slight pause on the project. The Studio Tour was forever changed after an accident last year that caused the permanent closure of a section of the tour after that investigation was done.
We will be watching this week to see the status of the project and updating this article with any more info that we can find. The potential impacts to the Jason Universe queue operation for Halloween Horror Nights are unknown at this time but will be interesting to watch.
