A new permit filed Friday by Universal indicates that a massive new expansion is coming to the park! This isn’t the first expansion of the park though, that belongs to P915 which is a 40,000 square foot events center next to Celestial Park scheduled to break ground soon.
This new permit is for a massive 150,000 square foot building and although the location is unknown there is some context clues we can use to figure it out.

Out of all the major expansion plots left in the park only one matches up with the square footage of the permit a that is the Potter plot. When Epic was being constructed it was originally supposed to have two rides in Ministry of Magic. The second ride was a rumored flying broomstick VR ride which quite honestly sounded terrible so I’m glad they cut it.
Harry Potter is an incredibly popular franchise and each of the lands at the Universal parks do very well. Battle of the Ministry’s queue is always very long considering it’s the only ride in the land so this new ride is crucial for the land and park.
A few months ago another permit was filed for construction trailers in the RICOS RANCH area of the property which is nearly adjacent to the Ministry of Magic land. It makes sense now why those construction trailers were placed there as they are prepping for this new attraction.
Also of note is that there were many notice of commencements filed over the last few months with several design firms that handle designing new attractions. I have heard that that Epic’s next new attraction would break ground in Early 2026 so the filing of permits now makes complete sense.
As for what would be built? Well currently I have no clue, but here are some things I’d like to be built. With the permit stating a 150,000 square foot building that already proves it will be another indoor attraction which is GREAT because Epic needs more rides and indoor rides. Whenever it rains most of the park is shut down due to weather.
In my opinion Epic could use an indoor coaster similar in thrill to Gringotts or Mummy and if they want to go all out they could make it a suspended indoor coaster. They also really need a relaxing bin thrilling boat ride that has no height requirement and eats up a ton of people aka high capacity. That is something that Universal’s parks are desperately lacking so it would be nice to see a boat ride come to Epic sooner rather than later.
