Hollwyood Rip Ride Rockit closed last Monday to make way for a new roller coaster attraction. Even though it just closed, Universal is wasting no time getting to work on ripping out the attraction.

Bioreconstruct was out early in the morning getting this photo of them already ripping up a piece of track.

This morning, Inside Universal captured this photo with them already taking down a section of track. If they keep going at this rate they should have all the track gone by the end of September.
As for what’s replacing this coaster, we’ll now that’s a mystery but we have strong evidence supporting a Fast and Furious theme to the new coaster. We know the coaster will be built by Intamin as they filed a few notice of commencements awhile ago. We widely expect this to be another drifting coaster like the one coming to Universal Studios Hollywood.

There have been other rumors of it being Ghostbusters or even Back To The Future but our sources indicate that it will be Fast and Furious themed. A recent amended Notice of Commencement suggested an end date of Summer 2027 so definitely keep and eye out for the opening of this new coaster to be around that time.
