Today, Disney have revealed its plan to reimagine the Animation Courtyard at Disneys Hollywood Studios. This is one of the last major areas of the park to get a reimagining following the now closed MuppetVision Courtyard for Monsters Inc and the soon to be rethemed Rockin Rollercoaster.
The Magic Of Disney Animation will be housed in a building that is almost a replica of the Animation building in Burbank, California.
The iconic Sorcerer Hat will be making its return to the park in this new area as the marquee of the new building.
Star Wars Launch Bay will close in 2026 to make way for this new experience. This will be an interactive experience where the drawings will come to life in the form of meet and greets and activities. You will be able to draw your on sketches as well just like at the animation experience in Disney California Adventure!
For the very young children there will be a small play area called Drawn To Wonderland. This playground will feature an oversized flower garden, musical instruments, a Mad Tea Party play set and even a Tulgey Wood area to explore!
Animation Courtyard will be reimagined into The Walt Disney Studios which will house iconic buildings found around the Disney Lot and include a refreshed Disney Junior show as well as the currently operating show, The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure.
Animation and Disney Jr. Play and Dance! will close September 25th to make way for the new area which will open in 2026.
