Something new seemed to finally be happening at the former Fast and Furious Supercharged building on the grand finale of the Studio Tour.
Over the past few weeks Universal has posted positions for new jobs relating to a new project but funnily enough I don’t think those positions relate to this project. Universal posted some positions last year for a new project and those positions (now hired) likely relate to this project.
A ton of new construction makers have popped up around the former Supercharged building and the associated roads. These new markers relate to different water and utility lines. Even more interesting is that as of Sunday the doors were open and trash bins were outside and there were props and items from the previous attraction in the dumpster. The flashing yellow light was on signaling that people were inside the building at that time. It was told to me that as of now that building is nearly fully empty and not being used as tram storage anymore.
All these signs point to work starting soon for a new attraction in this space that could debut in 2027 if they start soon. What could that new attraction be? Well I am not sure but the leading theory seems to be an attraction based on the movie Twisters which starred Glenn Powell and came out in 2024.
No permits have come out for heavy alteration of the building so that means they’ll likely keep the 360 screens and maybe add a few props in the preshow rooms like they had set up for Fast & Furious.
